
Mike Pawley
Mike teaches at several top-tier investment banks, and on the Masters in Finance at the Judge Business School, Cambridge University.
Mike has a degree in Banking and Finance (B.A Hons), a PhD in Monetary Economics, and is the author of two finance textbooks.
Mike started his financial career at Price Waterhouse (now PwC), auditing banks’ derivatives books and advising the Financial Services Practice team on client use of derivatives.
He then moved to Barclays Capital, where he was responsible for Sales & Trading education, working closely with traders and the derivatives analytics team to embed understanding of key analytics and strategies for interest rate, equity, credit and FX derivatives for both staff and clients.
After four years at Barclays Capital, Mike moved to Deutsche Bank, where he was Global Head of Financial Product Training at the Corporate & Investment Bank, responsible for designing and implementing financial education strategy across all staff levels.
He was also responsible for delivering financial training for Deutsche Bank’s clients as part of the Corporate & Investment Bank marketing effort – including, amongst others: hedge funds (Two Sigma, Moore Capital, GSA), asset managers (ABRDN, Aviva, Scottish Widows), central banks (Colombia, Brazil, Mexico), sovereign wealth funds (KIA, QIA), and ministries of finance (Italy, UK Treasury, South Korea, Chile, South Africa, Egypt).
Mike also specialised in one-to-one consultative training on finance and derivatives for members of the Deutsche Bank Management Board and Supervisory Board.
